I got a turkey!!

I am so excited!!! I got a free turkey today. Every year one a vendor for printers/copy machines has a lunch open house kind of thing where they serve Portillo’s roast beef sandwiches and give everyone a free turkey. Now I can’t wait for Thanksgiving!

I have really been slackin’ on the preparation for Thanksgiving dinner this year. The only thing I know is that we now have a deep fryer, so we won’t be poaching the turkey in oil again this year. Oh, and CuzIL is making all of the potatoes, mashed and sweet. She said she found some recipes that look good, and what is Thanksgiving for but to experiment with food on a whole bunch of unsuspecting guests. That is what I have been doing for the past few years.

Thanksgiving is a great day at the House of Temptation. I have a lot of foodie friends, and everyone pitches in to have a fabulous dinner. Sis makes a killer macaroni and cheese, BroIL does both turkey – one fried and one grilled. BFF host brings the most incredible warm port and cranberry beverage. I am usually loopy and the whole crock pot full of the drink is gone well before most guests even arrive. I guess it pays to get there early and help.

Anyway, I missed getting in the groove for Halloween, but I am starting to feel the spirit for Thanksgiving. I think I will even drag out all of my cornucopias for decoration. Let the fun begin!
